About

Hi, I'm Your Wellness Skeptic-in-Residence

Curious, cautious, and a little caffeine-dependent—just like you.

I started Wellness Critic because I was tired of navigating the wellness world with nothing but hype, hashtags, and “as seen on TikTok” promises. For every worthwhile breakthrough, there seemed to be a dozen detox teas or overpriced gadgets selling false hope.

So I decided to ask the hard questions. Dig into the research. Actually try the products. And, most importantly, share what I found in plain English—no wellness-speak, no woo.

Because wellness should feel empowering, not overwhelming. And sometimes, the most caring thing we can do… is critique.

Wellness With Receipts

If it works, we want proof. If it doesn’t, we want answers. We separate credible care from clever marketing so you can invest in what actually supports your well-being—with zero second-guessing.

We’re not influencers. We’re not here to sell you celery juice.

Our team includes nutritionists, skeptics, yoga teachers, product testers, and mental health writers who believe that healthy living doesn’t require blind faith. We test, review, and research so you can breathe easy knowing you’re getting insight, not industry BS.

Our Wellness Filter Checklist

Before we recommend anything, we put it through our five-point gut check:

  1. Does it actually work—or just sound good?
  2. Is it backed by science or anecdotal hype?
  3. Would we recommend it to a friend—or our own therapist?
  4. Does it support the whole person—mind, body, and environment?
  5. Is it worth the price tag—or is there a smarter swap?

If it passes? We’ll tell you why. If it doesn’t? We’ll tell you that, too. No sponsored spin. No greenwashed wellness. Just real talk from people who care.

Got a Trend You’re Not Sure About?

We love a good wellness mystery. If there's a new product or practice you’re skeptical about, send it our way—we’ll dig in, break it down, and share what’s real (and what’s not).
